Shambles will now be known as the 2010 ENnie Nominated Shambles.
What Is Shambles?
Shambles is an RPG about life as a Zombie. Your character died, but didn’t pass on for whatever reason. Now you spend your time trying to keep from rotting away, avoiding machete-wielding fanatics, and just trying to get by on your strange new diet.
Is it any good?
I sure think so. Just ask these people:
“Shambles is a strong first effort from @ATerribleIdea – it’s entertaining, funny, and cheap, considering.” – allgeektout
“If you enjoy watching movies like “Shaun Of The Dead”, you’ll love Shambles. I think I could go on for hours praising this game. If you are into humorous games, you should definitely check this fine game out!” – Stargazer’s World
“I definitely give it a high value-for-your-money rating. It’s familiar enough to experienced gamers that even die-hard D&D addicts can enjoy it while being simple enough for non-gamers to enjoy. I think the best part of the game is that it never loses sight of the mission: a good, undead time.” – Creative Anomalies
“If you’re looking for deep philosophy and strategy, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for some harmless escapism and a quick system that even your mother could learn in five minutes, pick it up. If the concept of the game sounds interesting to you, I can’t recommend it enough.” – David A. Hill Jr.
“It’s a game.” – Berin Kinsman (Berin was reviewing the free preview that was done for Dundracon a couple years back.)
I’m sold. Where can I get it?
You can purchase Shambles at DriveThruRPG.com
Can I get just the character sheet?
I bought a hard copy. Can I get the pdf versions for free?
Sure. Just a picture of you reading the book someplace that isn’t obviously in in a game store somewhere, and I’ll send you a code for free download. But you agree to let me post the picture on the website, or use it in promotional materials. That’s a fair deal.
I bought a digital copy. Can I get a discount on the print version?
As soon as I figure out how to implement this effectively, yes.
