Okay, here's Sara. I want to get the first draft of all of these done today, so in theory Ryan (temporary name) should be up later too.

Sara never knew sight; she never knew sound. All of her life was the same black curtain over her senses, depriving her of any hope she may have. She knew of Helen Keller, and how she managed to become successful despite her condition, but she lacked her strength. Her life was desolate, meaningless, bleak.

There was a time when there was hope, when she thought she might be saved. A surgery that most doctors cried would never work. But their cries fell upon deaf ears – she would try anything if it meant experiencing the world.

Her hope was for naught. The doctors were right – it didn’t work. And that was how, on the day of the Terminus Event, she found herself standing on the edge of her apartment building.

Sara never knew sight; she never knew sound. But as she let herself drop from the edge of the building, her eyes and ears opened themselves to the world for the first time. She saw the sky burn, and she heard the screams of everyone around her as the world ended.

When she awoke, the world had changed beyond recognition. But what she saw was not a land of Nightmares, but a land of opportunities. This was a world where she could explore and do as she pleased. This was her world.

Horseman: The White Horse

With her desire to explore the world, Sara often takes the lead as she and the other Chevaliers move from one place to the next. As such, she is often the first to stumble upon things, the first to get into trouble, and the first to charge against the enemy.

Traits:
Ferocity – 1. Sara is a calm and gentle person, who isn’t quick to anger by any means.

Creativity – 4. Sara pushes her fellow Chevaliers to new frontiers, challenging herself and them to constantly find new ways to do things.

Tenacity – 3. Sara wants to live forever, exploring the world and seeing all of its wonders, now that she has her sight and hearing.

Divinity – 2. Sara has a touch of destiny about her, as do all the Chevaliers, but she does not stand out in any way.

Skills:
Insight. Perhaps because she went her whole life without sight or sound, Sara was quick to learn the subtle cues in the face and voice of those who are lying.

Dance. One of Sara’s hobbies from before the Event, she loved it because it was one of the few things that needed neither sight nor sound – she just needed to feel the rhythm of her heartbeat.

Pathfinding. As an eager explorer, Sara has taught herself how to find paths that may lead to somewhere interesting or safe.

Hiding. Sara knows not only what the best place to hide is, but how to remain completely silent once she’s in the hiding place.

Self and Destiny:
Self – 6

Destiny – 6

Available Seals:
Seal of the Crown

Seal of Destiny

Seal of Light

Seal of Persistence

I really struggled with finding the skills for Sara, but other than that I didn't spend too much time on putting her together. One thing I haven't quite decided on is the last paragraph of the story. I feel like the paragraph before it really felt like an end, but it lacked… an ending, I guess? It's very hard for me to express what I'm trying to say, but hopefully you get the idea.

And here's Ryan Creed, the last one.

Ryan was a soldier. Nothing more, nothing less. He was trained in the ways of the war and little else. That was his life – fighting one adversary after another. It was all he knew.

Then the dreams started.

Exactly when they started he can’t remember. But they were the same thing every time. He lay on the ground, and in front of him was a woman. Her form was unclear, but it felt familiar. She seemed to motion to him, but just as she was about to speak… He awoke. Every night, the same dream. Until the Terminus Event.

He was in the middle of a war zone when it happened. He was fighting a losing battle, as his fellow soldiers around him all fell. He soldiered on, as he had been trained to do, never once thinking about stopping. But when his best friend fell in battle, he got reckless – and it was inevitable that a bullet would pierce his heart.

As he fell to the ground, the woman appeared to him. And for the first time, she spoke. "Come to me. Come and save me." And he blacked out.

Somehow, he made it home. And now, he is still a soldier, and he still fights as he was trained to do. But he does something else. He searches for the woman, and hopes that one day, he will find her – and save her.

Horseman: The Red Horse
From the time he was a boy, all Ryan wanted was to be a soldier. He is highly trained and highly effective, but he knows little outside of war – so it is no surprise that when he was given the power of a Cavalier, it was the power of the War Horse.

Traits:

Ferocity – 3. Ryan has a temper that he struggles with controlling, and if he’s pushed over the edge, he tends to lose control.
Creativity – 1. As a trained soldier, Ryan doesn’t often deviate from the standard operating procedure. He follows steps and gets results.
Tenacity – 4. Ryan wants to stay alive so that he can save the woman. He fears that if he is lost to the Nightmares, than so too will she be.
Divinity – 2. Ryan is a textbook example of a Cavalier. He has Divinity that raises him up when compared to the rest of humanity, but he isn’t anything special.

Skills:
Guns. Can you disassemble and reassemble a gun in no time flat? Ryan can.
Search and Rescue. Ryan used to be part of a squad that specialized in rescuing civilians from hot zones. He hopes those skills will help him in finding the woman of his dreams.
Martial Arts. Ryan is a skilled fighter, and can hold his own against most. One of his greatest regrets is that he never got his black belt.
Piloting. In a pinch, he can get most any vehicle where it needs to be. Just don’t rely on him too much.

Self and Destiny:
Self – 8
Destiny – 4

Available Seals:
Seal of the Sword
Seal of Destiny

Seal of Light

Seal of Persistence

Ryan is a very straightforward character without a lot of depth, but with an interesting hook. I want to rewrite the ending of his story, though…

Anyway, now that I'm done with the first draft of all of these characters, I'm going to take this week and go through all of them, revise the characters, make sure there isn't any (or at least that there's minimal) overlap between the characters, and then shelve this until later.
