When I bought this domain, I had intended to use it for an idea I’d had nagging at me for a while. The general concept was to do short, 5 question interviews with persons of note, on topics they were not expecting and that they probably hadn’t been interviewed about in the past. Burning questions, that no one ever thinks about.

Does Alice Cooper like his Oranje Juice with or without Pulp? What does Mark Hamill carry in his wallet? Who is Hulk Hogan’s biggest musical influence?

The problem is, really, I don’t know anyone. Also, I’m about the only person who thought it was funny. So, I’m changing direction.

There are no fewer than 3 billion sites out there about gaming and game related topics. If you exclude Video and Computer games, there are still about 1.2 billion (I counted them all. Honestly.) I may not know what the world needs, but it probably doesn’t need Yet Another Gaming Site.

I think what it needs is a Different Gaming Site.

So let me tell you what you can expect to start seeing here, and what you probably won’t see here very often, if at all. Most of it centers around something I call Crashing The Game.

Crashing The Game should not be thought of in computer terms. It’s not about grinding the Game to a halt, or ruining everyone’s fun. Crashing The Game is more like Crashing The Party or Crashing The Gates. It’s about spinning out the unexpected, etting players and GMs on their collective ears. Not out of spite (at least not typically). Crashing The Game comes out of a love for a very fundamental principle:

Gaming Should Be Fun.

So, what you WILL see: Examples and Anecdotes from or for GMs and Players on the subject of Crashing The Game – funny stories, ideas to try, and how to cope when someone Crashes The Game. Reviews of Fun Games. Interviews with the people behind Fun Games. Funny Bits. How To Kill Them In An Entertaining Fashion. Probably a fair amount of pretentiousness. Some Game Resources to help GMs or players in some meaningful fashion.

What you will NOT see: “I’m only 2 kills away from getting the power up and WINNING THE GAME!” Bland dungeon crawls explained in tedious detail. Articles about how to Take The Game Seriously. Rules Clarification.

There’s no well defined plan for updates and the like. But with direction, comes momentum. And I’ve something special lined up. So peek in every now and then.
